Fresh Garden Salad
Before a flower can bloom,
Produce beauty and wonder,
It must first grow from within,
Take from the world the good,
Resist the bad,
To burst out from inside,
And up through the ground.
Likewise, for a person to bloom,
Produce beauty and wisdom,
They must also grow from within,
Take from the world the good,
Resist the bad,
To explode from within,
Towards the sky and beyond.
As we garden in the spring,
We tend not only to the bulbs,
Or seeds sown sweetly,
We also tend to our souls,
Weeding the things which have,
Sown themselves through time,
Or through means without our control.
For we cannot protect our soil,
From things which want to harm,
We can weed regular, and care often,
And have faith that the bad shall not overcome,
And our soil and soul shall prosper,
Give forth flowers of great beauty,
And all the wonders of the world shall be ours.
